Yummy Lamb and Mint Stir Fry!

Wednesday is around the corner, you’re running out of ideas on what to cook and you just want something quick, easy and tasty ? We’ve got you covered with this refreshing recipe! It’s something simple but that can easily impress as it’s packed with incredible flavours !


All you need, serves 2 to 4:

  • 2 red onions
  • 2-4 Chillies ( the smaller the hotter it will be !)
  • 500g of Lamb
  • 2 Cloves of garlic
  • Bunch of mint
  • 1/2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp  Worchershire Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Fish Sauce
  • 2-3 Tbsp of Sugar (Palm Sugar preferably)
  • Flour
  • Rice

This dish is suitable for anyone and can be adjusted depending on their tastebuds. Whether you like it sweeter, saltier, or really spicy, you can adjust all the flavours to whatever it is you prefer so you can fully enjoy it! Just remember with chillies, the smaller they are, the spicier they get!


Mise en Place Time

First up is to deseed the chillies, and slice them up finely ! It doesn’t matter what colour chillies you use but red is better just to make the dish a little bit more vibrant with colours! Chop up the garlic or if you are lazy you can just grate it quickly.

Wash the mint thoroughly and half the bunch. Keep one half aside as you’ll need it later, you can pluck the leaves off so it’s ready to use. With the other half, simply chop finely like everything else!


Still keeping it very simple, slice up your two onions in thin, equal slices.


To make the delicious and flavoursome sauce, add all the sauces, the sugar, the chopped mint, half the amount of chillies together and stir !


Now let’s start with the main part of the dish. Heat up a pot with some oil and wait for it to be nice and hot. Coat the lamb with flour and salt and toss into hot pot,  colour until sealed. We advice you to do this in small batches and set aside on paper towel.


After sealing the lamb and setting it aside. Use the same pot in which you’ll add the red onions, whole mint leaves, garlic and half of the chillies left. Sauté everything or until aroma is strong.


By this stage you can start cooking your rice. Once that is done, and things are starting to smell delicious, add your meat back in to warm up. Pour in the sauce mixture and leave to heat up nicely.

The finale mixture should look like above. Finally … no actually that’s it! It’s that quick and easy, you can now enjoy your delicious meal. Serve with a decent amount of rice, and feel free to go for seconds! (We know you want to and we won’t tell anyone if you do.)
